I designed the Harness on these light kits to be modular, so that they are both universal but also specifically for the KLR to be nearly plug and play. This means there will be multiple options for powering the circuits to the lights.
The power source options are as follows:
Direct to battery;
NOT FOR USE WITH DASH MOUNTED SWITCH ***Handle bar mount switch ONLY! Otherwise the dash switch will have a small parasitic draw.
Factory Auxiliary power source: (This is the Route I recommend unless you absolutely need to turn the lights on with the ignition switch off)
There will be three options to draw the power source from the auxiliary light circuit;
-The right hand connector behind the Right Hand fairing
-The Left hand two pin connector behind the Left Hand fairing (just remove the factory dummy plug and insert pins as pictured)
-The Barrel connectors (open from the factory) Located underneath the headlight fairing behind the left hand side fairing
The harness will come wired with barrel connectors and a de-pinned connector for you to setup the power source to your liking.
LIGHTS;
The lights have a wide light array and a 20 watt draw each-40 watts total making them more than suitable to use on the factory auxiliary circuit. They will come with 22mm bar mounts so it is made to be mounted directly to engine/crash bars.
This kit will also come with the proper relay to power the factory Auxiliary circuit unless specified that you do not need it.
You will receive:
1x Modular wiring harness
2× 20watt LED lights with mounting brackets and Hardware
2x Zip Ties to help secure the Harness
1x Switch of your choice via the drop-down menu
1× 30amp Relay
1x Ring Terminal connectors for Direct battery connection
1x De-pinned connector to choose between the Left and Right Hand connector for powering the lights
